Protecting your data is important to me. This website does not use tracking, advertising or external services. Below I explain which personal data is processed when you visit the website and when you send a booking enquiry.

Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When pages are accessed, the server processes technically necessary access data such as IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and operating system. This data is required to deliver the website and ensure its security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are stored for a limited period only, in accordance with STRATO’s policies, and then deleted. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with STRATO.

Data is transmitted in encrypted form via HTTPS (SSL/TLS).

Booking enquiries

If you use the enquiry form, I process your details (name, email address, optionally your phone number, travel dates, number of guests and your message) in order to answer the enquiry and prepare a booking (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The enquiry is stored on the web server at STRATO and delivered to me by email via my STRATO mailbox.

If no booking is made, the enquiry is automatically deleted no later than six months after receipt. If a booking is made, I keep the data for as long as statutory, in particular tax-related, retention obligations require (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

To protect against abusive mass enquiries, the server stores an irreversibly encrypted value (hash) of your IP address for a maximum of one hour when you submit the form; the IP address itself cannot be derived from it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in secure operation).

Registration form and visitor’s tax

For the legally required registration form (Meldeschein) and the guest card, I transmit the necessary guest details to the municipality of Mittenwald when a booking is made (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with the German Federal Registration Act and the local visitor’s tax regulations).

Contact by email

If you send me an email, I process your address and the content of the message in order to respond to your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).

Cookies, fonts and external content

No cookies are set for visitors to the website and no analytics or tracking tools are used. Only the password-protected administration area for the landlord uses a technically necessary session cookie.

The fonts are loaded directly from this server; there is no connection to Google or other third parties. Links to external sites (for example in the image credits) are only accessed when you click on them.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to it on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). An informal email to info@edelweiss-mittenwald.de is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for me is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.
